A business can be more than one kind. Veteran-owned and AbilityOne businesses carry their own labels. More about the kinds

How a business gets on the street

Four checks. Every listing. By a person.

  1. 1
It sells to the public. A storefront, cafe, food truck, online shop, or service.
  2. 2
There is public proof. Its own site or the news says it employs or trains people with disabilities, or the owner says so.
  3. 3
It is open. A dated sign of business within the last two years.
  4. 4
It pays at least minimum wage. Anyone on the U.S. Department of Labor 14(c) list is left out.
